Science and Mathematics Academic Tutor

Minimum requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree in a science and mathematics-related field.
• 1 to 2 years of teaching experience.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English.
• Possess the ability to solve problems.
• Responsible and accountable.
• Good in science and mathematics knowledge.
• Passionate to work with students and enjoy teamwork.
• Encourage active learning and be able to relate science lessons to life with real-world applications.
• Able to handle additional subjects or with teaching experience will be an added advantage.
• Multilingual ability is welcome, especially for communicating with Mandarin-speaking students/parents, but not required. Currently, the number of clients who are Mandarin-speaking only is increasing; therefore, the ability to speak Mandarin would be an advantage.

Working hours:
Weekday: 11:00am to 8:00pm.
Saturday: Morning or afternoon shift.

Responsibilities:
• To teach one or more of the following Cambridge IGCSE subjects: Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics. Training will be provided.
• Develop and continuously improve teaching materials to meet our centre’s objectives and goals.
• Be involved in meetings and discussions whenever required.
• Assist other tutors when required.

As a student who had studied in Ethos for around 7 years with Mr Low, I would say that he is definitely a very dedicated and patient teacher that will solve all my doubts in the subjects. Ethos also provides a friendly and relaxing learning environment that allows students to actively engage with the teachers. Mr Low is also a fun teacher who rewards me for getting good grades. In Ethos I am able to improve my grades and at the same time develop a strong teacher-student bond with Mr Low. Really enjoyed my tuition time spent in Ethos with Mr Low and really appreciate all his guidance and help. Thank you teacher for all your dedications *^o^*.

I have been in Ethos through the last few years of my primary school and through my entire high school! I've managed to understand and solve Mathematics problems more easily and quickly with the help of my teacher, Ms Lyshan here in Ethos. She has encouraged me and I have managed to get an A* in IGCSE Mathematics with her guidance. I am really grateful for her enlightenment throughout these years. I have also managed to strive through the subject Additional Mathematics and get a good grade within a few months by the help from one of the tutors here in Ethos, Ms Xiuyun. She has helped me to solve my many confusions for the topics in this subject. I am also really thankful for her teaching and encouragement in believing that I could do well in the recent IGCSE exam. Overall, the teachers are very committed and helpful in guiding students wholeheartedly which I appreciate. Thank you teachers.

Ethos has helped me improve my grades in school significantly. The tutors always gave their best to make sure that the students understand what they are teaching. In January 2020, my son, Oscar and I went to Ethos to seek guidance and desperate assistance in his failing subjects at school. Oscar had exactly 10 months to prepare for his IGCSE in Year 11.

After speaking to Mr Low, his advice to Oscar was to join his individual and group classes to understand better in his struggling subjects which were Chemistry, Physics and Add Math. We took up his advice and that eventually proved valueable.

Through sheer perseverance and dedication at Ethos, Oscar managed to score 7As and 2Bs in his IGCSE 2020.

Mr Low, Ms Tan and Ms Ho, a massive thank-you to all of you in guiding and instilling confidence in Oscar from a predicted FAIL student to achieving some decent grades in his IGCSE and with A* in Chemistry and Physics!

It has been my second year having tuition classes at Ethos. I had a really good experience over here... I take physics and chemistry classes every Wednesday and Thursday. The classes provided by Ethos is very professional and gives me a thorough understanding on each subject. Ethos has been on my side supporting and guiding me throughout my secondary years and coached me with patience and endurance. Although I have never passed a single chemistry paper, regardless how many times the result seemed upsetting... my teacher never gave up and I turned out to get credit for my chemistry for my IGs. I would recommend you readers to sign up for Ethos for tuition classes. YOU WON'T REGRET, NOT A SINGLE BIT.

Been at ethos for around a year. Came when my add maths results were fluctuating and around an average of a B or a C. The teachers there are professional especially Ms Tan who addressed my problems very well. She is very patient in particular when I get very confused on a new topic but most importantly an effective tutor.

I definitely think this is a worth it place to go if you are struggling at maths or add maths. I know for a fact that i wouldnt have gotten A*s in igs both in maths and add maths by myself. Glad I came to Ethos

Ethos is not only a tuition centre for me. My son has been attending the tuition from his Year 8 to Year 11.
He has no confidence and interest on study at first. Tutors from Tuition centre always encouraged and monitor the status of his study process and discuss with me when necessary, not only the academic but also the attitude as well. Sometime, my son will share with me some of the funny topic that the tutors share with him at the tuition centre.

Ethos is definitely a tuition centre I would never regret to go to. Mr Low and Ms Vinnie has taught me Chemistry, Physics and Biology respectively throughout my entire KS4.

Mr Low and Ms Vinnie are both very dedicated and selfless tutors, they are always willing to help outside of tuition lessons. They are also funny which makes the lessons more lively and not boring. I always appreciate how communicative Mr Low and Ms Vinnie are, they always share the child’s progress with the parents every end of the month. This helps me to understand how have i been doing and knowing what shall i improve to be better.
